Cali K9®'s founder, owner, dog trainer, and canine behavior expert, Jas Leverette stars Canine Intervention, a docuseries streaming worldwide on Netflix. He has appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, TMZ, and numerous news and lifestyle shows. He conducts evaluations, webinars, seminars worldwide, as well as private training sessions, and advanced group classes.

He was born in New York and grew up in Oakland, California. During his youth, he owned and trained dogs and horses, played youth football with the Oakland Dynamites, and participated in equestrian sports, including jumping, dressage, vaulting, and trail riding. At Oakland High School, he played football and was an Oakland Athletic League wrestling champion for four years.

He got his start training equines with natural horse training techniques that use body language to communicate. He’s trained horses, hundreds of companion dogs, working dogs, and law enforcement K9s, and dozens of professional dog trainers. He also competes in dog sport and working dog events.

Jas is passionate about his work and has the natural ability to recognize drive, temperament, and disposition in all breeds and to communicate with animals. He has the know-how to optimize a dog’s true potential and the skill to temper and train even the most difficult dog. He has been voted Metro's Best of Silicon Valley every year since 2012.

Jas is married to Nouhaila Leverette, they have a son named Jasir and a daughter on the way, and they live in Oakland, California. His personal dogs include Dutch Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, German Shepherds, and an Akita.


Taren is an experienced senior dog trainer who conducts evaluations, private training sessions, and teaches advanced off-leash group classes.  

Raised in San Jose, she grew up with Chesapeake Bay retrievers where she learned through training them how all dogs learn differently. She also started riding ponies and horses at a young age and gained a respect for animals and their trainers.

As a Cali K9® client training her American Staffordshire and Australian cattle dog mix in 2015, she fell in love with the Cali K9® training method, which renewed her passion for dog training. She currently owns a Dogo Argentino, a Chesapeake Bay retriever, and a Cali K9®-bred Belgian Malinois/Dutch Shepherd cross. She trains and intends to compete in dog sport and working dog events.


Aby is an experienced senior dog trainer who started with Cali K9® as a client with his Australian Shepherd, Echo. He teaches private sessions and group obedience and agility classes. Prior to training dogs, he was a combat medic and sergeant in the US Army. He is currently training Zeus, his Cali K9®-bred Belgian Malinois/Dutch Shepherd mix and Tsunami, his Dutch Shepherd puppy to compete in dog sport and working dog competitions.


Isaiah is an experienced senior dog trainer with several years of hands-on training experience. Born and raised in Kentucky, he owned and operated a dog training, daycare, and grooming business where he worked with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages and temperaments. He also bred and raised Cane Corsos and Presa Canarios. Currently, he owns two Presa Canarios and a Belgian Malinois/Dutch Shepherd mix. He relocated to Northern California to work with Jas Leverette and the Cali K9® team.
