Does this describe you?
You’re a dog lover and experienced dog trainer.
You’re dedicated to promoting responsible dog ownership.
You know canine behavior, temperament, and body language.
You love training dogs, educating dog owners and sharpening your skills.
You have 2+ years of experience training dogs.
You have customer service, pet retail, and point-of-sale experience.
You can work full-time, including weekends and some weekday evenings.
You have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
You live in or close to San Jose/Silicon Valley.
You’re able to lift at least 50 lbs on a regular basis.
You’re able to read, write and communicate in English.
You own a smartphone and know how to use email, Google calendar, and social media.
You are able to photograph, film, and document your work via smartphone.
You’re open to learning and incorporating proven modern dog training methods.
You understand the balanced approach to dog obedience, socialization and behavior modification.
You understand pack leadership, distraction training, recall, and other dog training basics.
You can run group classes, agility courses, and private training sessions.
You’re able to organize educational materials and attendance records for group classes.
You’re able to recognize and identify dog breeds and characteristics.
You know and use the terminology related to dog training, behavior, and aggression.
You know how to use the various types of dog training equipment and tools.
You know canine nutrition, health, general hygiene guidelines, and kennel maintenance.
You document behavior history and work with the needs of the dog and client.
You’re self-motivated, energetic, and an upbeat team player.
You are a self-starter and can work independently,
You have excellent communication skills in person and on the phone.
You work well with people from all backgrounds.
You’re organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-up skills.
You’re reliable, punctual, and stable with a good attendance record.
You have a good driving record, excellent references, and can pass a background check.
Bilingual, especially Spanish and Vietnamese
Extensive experience: Advanced behavior issues, aggression, protection, dog sport
Based on skills and experience and will include bonuses and commission.

The Cali K9® Professional Dog Handler Program is a fee-based six or twelve-month educational commitment similar to attending a vocational or trade school.
